The cream-colored Aran cable knit sweater worn by Chris Evans’ calculating Ransom Drysdale in the hit film Knives Out created a social media stir with the New York Post’s style section declaring it the star of an already star-studded film. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Knives Out costume designer Jenny Eagan joked, “I’m not sure if it’s the sweater or who’s wearing the sweater. That might be part of it, too. He looks pretty great.” On a deeper level, the classic sweater was selected to help showcase the character’s eccentricities and disdain for his wealthy family. “[G]iving it little nicks or little holes here and there, meaning he didn’t take care of it… the holes and the tatter gave him a touch of that disrespect,” Eagan told the publication. “It was a disrespect to the family, a disrespect to the name, a disrespect to his clothes.” VIP Fan Auctions, however, has nothing but respect for this now-iconic piece of big-screen wardrobe (pictured), and it’s available to the Knives Out fan who casts the winning bid.
